[107] Elizabeth's surname in the Hathersage parish register appears to be recorded as "LEE", or perhaps "LOE", but the Licence for her marriage to Edward says otherwise. It states that Edward "Mossley" was of the parish of Eyam, aged 60 and a widower, and Elizabeth was of the same parish, and a spinster aged 23. The Marriage was to be solemnized in the "Parish Church of Chesterfield or Chappell of Dore or Hathersage" "between the Hours of Eight and Twelve of the Clock in the Forenoon"; and it was dated 7 Oct 1725. The Bond was signed by the mark of Wm. Sydall, and Lawrence Green in the presence of Thomas (looks like) Hinch of Man. (Manchester?) [return to Elizabeth LOW(E) ]

[267] The entry for Edward's marriage in Hathersage PR appears to record Elizabeth's surname as "LEE", but they were married by Licence, in which her surname is recorded as LOW. Edward was a widower aged 60, and Elizabeth was a spinster aged 23. The Bondsmen were William Syddall o.t.p. Eyam and Lawrence Green of the same.
